Spartan Women Earn No. 10 Seed in the Big Ten Tournament

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women’s basketball will be the No. 10 seed in the upcoming Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, which will be held Feb. 28-March 4 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The No. 10-seeded Spartans (17-12, 7-9 B1G) will face No.7-seeded Indiana in the second round on Thursday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. ET.

For the second-straight season Ohio State is the No. 1 seed in the tournament, while Maryland is the No. 2 seed. The Buckeyes won the regular-season title on the final day of the season with a win over Penn State. Nebraska will be the No. 3 seed, while Minnesota is the final team to earn the double bye, earning the No. 4 seed.

MSU is the No. 10 seed in the B1G Tournament for just the second time. In the 2002 tournament also held in Indianapolis, the Spartans lost to Ohio State in the first round in double overtime, 92-89. This is the first time since the 2012 tournament that MSU has faced Indiana. As the No. 5 seed, MSU stopped the Hoosiers, 97-68, in the first round.

All 13 games of this year’s Big Ten Tournament will be televised live to a national audience, with games on the first three days (first round through quarterfinals) broadcast live on BTN2Go (available to authenticated BTN subscribers) as well as through several Regional Sports Networks around the country (check local listings for times and availability). BTN will also carry Saturday’s semifinals live on its linear network, as well as through its BTN2Go platform. Sunday’s Big Ten Tournament championship game will be televised live on ESPN2 and the WatchESPN platform.
