March 10, 2009
EAST LANSING, Mich. - All-session tickets are still available for the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament First and Second Rounds at the Breslin Center on Sunday, March 22 and Tuesday, March 24. Sunday's first-round games are set for noon and 2:30 p.m., while Tuesday's second-round game will tip at 7 p.m. Ninth-seeded Michigan State will take on eighth-seeded Middle Tennessee State in Sunday's first game, while No. 1 Duke matches up against No. 16 Austin Peay in the second game.
Due to ticket commitments with the NCAA and the four participating schools, MSU cannot guarantee the same seats for the tournament games that fans have for the regular season. Fans are encouraged to order tickets now to assure lower bowl seats for this event.
Fans can order tickets for the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament First and Second Rounds through the Spartan Ticket Office online at www.msuspartans.com or by phone at 517-355-1610 or 1-800-GO-STATE. Tickets are $40 (adult) and $20 (youth/senior/MSU student) and are for two games Sunday and one game Tuesday. In addition, groups of 15 or more can purchase all-session tickets for only $20.
Single-session tickets will be available Monday, March 16.
In 2007, MSU hosted the NCAA Women's Tournament First and Second Rounds for the first time in school history. Thanks to the nation's second-largest crowd during the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament's Second Round, East Lansing led all eight First- and Second-Round sites with a total of 21,340 fans passing through the turnstiles during the three sessions of the event.
