EAST LANSING, Mich. - Senior Tori Jankoska will represent the Michigan State women’s basketball program at the 2017 State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships, held Thursday, March 30 at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. The 29th annual event will air at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Jankoska is the first Spartan to compete in the women’s college 3-point contest since Taylor Alton in 2012. Spartan great Lindsay Bowen won the event in 2006.
The Freeland, Michigan native, is one of two women’s basketball players in the Big Ten to compete. Fellow All-American Shatori Walker-Kimbrough from Maryland will join six other players from across the country.
Jankoska finished her Michigan State career with 320 career 3-pointers to set a new Spartan record. She is first in the nation in 3-pointers made (122) and 3-pointers per game (3.70). Her 122 treys was also a new MSU single-season record.
The State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships will take place at Grand Canyon University Arena. The event will showcase the dunking and sharp-shooting talents of 24 of the nation’s top college basketball seniors. Individual events include the Marine’s Women’s 3-Point Contest, Great Clips Men’s 3-Point Contest and the Denny’s Slam Dunk Contest.
