Aug. 16, 2000
Sopron, Hungary - Michigan State sophomore point guard Vnemina Reese (Fort Wayne, Ind.) scored 13 points and had five rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Big Ten Women's Basketball All-Star team suffered a 74-65 loss to Sopron BBC on Aug. 16 in Hungary. The loss leaves the conference team with a 3-1 record. The Big Ten concludes its five-game European tour with a rematch against Sopron on Thursday, Aug. 17.
Sopron led by as many as 14 points in the second half. Reese scored five-straight points during one stretch to pull the Big Ten within six points but it wasn't enough to overcome the bigger, more experienced European team.
Tamara Moore of Wisconsin was the only other player in double figures with 15 points and four steals.
In four tour games, Reese is averaging 4.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
