Home games vs. Clemson and Oklahoma will be televised.
Sept. 12, 2007
EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Big Ten Network recently announced that it will televise two Michigan State women's basketball non-conference games this upcoming season.
The network will televise the Nov. 29 home game against Clemson at 8 p.m., which is part of the inaugural Big Ten/ACC Women's Challenge. The Spartans and Tigers have only met one other time, a 75-64 Clemson victory on Dec. 18, 1989. The Tigers finished 12-18 overall and 4-10 in ACC play last season.
The network will also be on hand at the Breslin Center Dec. 16 when the Spartans face two-time defending Big 12 Champion Oklahoma at noon. Michigan State defeated the Sooners, 80-60, in Norman, Okla., during the 2005-06 season in the last meeting between the two teams. OU has earned back-to-back berths in the Sweet 16 and returns consensus All-American Courtney Paris to the lineup in 2007-08.
Game times and the television schedule for Big Ten Conference games will be announced at a later date.
Michigan State opens the 2007-08 season with an exhibition game against Grand Valley State on Thursday, Nov. 1.
