Big Ten Releases Women's Basketball Television Assignments
At least nine Spartan conference games will be televised this season.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Big Ten Conference released the television assignments for the 2014 women's basketball conference schedule today. At least nine Michigan State games during the Big Ten season will be broadcast, with additional games to be added to Big Ten Network or the Big Ten Digital Network later in the season.
The Spartans will have eight games televised on Big Ten Network and one, the Jan. 19 home contest against Penn State (5 p.m.), on ESPN2. MSU's games on BTN this season include Jan. 9 vs. Nebraska, Jan. 12 at Michigan, Jan. 26 at Ohio State, Feb. 2 vs. Purdue, Feb. 8 at Nebraska, Feb. 15 vs. Ohio State, Feb. 20 at Wisconsin and Feb. 24 vs. Minnesota.
In addition, every game of the 2014 Big Ten Tournament, hosted at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on March 6-9, will be televised with the first 10 games on BTN, and the championship game being covered on ESPN.
MSU's nine games are the third-most among conference schools, while its eight games on BTN are tied for the most. A total of 61 Big Ten women's basketball conference or tournament games are scheduled for live television coverage during the 2013-14 season.
The Spartans begin official practice on Thursday, Oct. 3, with fans getting their first taste of the 2013-14 Spartan team at Michigan State Madness on Friday, Oct. 18. Michigan State opens exhibition play on Wednesday, Oct. 30 against Ferris State at 6 p.m., before tipping off the regular season on Monday, Nov. 11 at 2013 Final Four participant Notre Dame.
New season ticket packages are now on sale for the 2013-14 season. Tickets can be purchased at MSUSpartans.com or by calling 1-800-GO STATE. Single-game tickets will go on sale Oct. 15.
