MSU Women Begin Practice Monday

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's basketball began preparing for the 2017-18 season with the first official practice of the season. After practice, 11th-year head coach Suzy Merchant spoke about the upcoming Spartan squad.

Michigan state brings back four starters from last season's team that went 21-12, including a trip to the NCAA Tournament. The only Spartan starter not back is guard Tori Jankoska who graduated from MSU as the Spartans' all-time leading scorer with 2,212 career point. Michigan State will be led by seniors Taya Reimer and Branndais Agee. Reimer, senior Lexi Gussert and junior Jenna Allen are all captains for the Spartans this season.

MSU opens the 2017-18 season at home against Lake Superior State in its only exhibition on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m.
