Lykendra Johnson has been a key reserve off the bench for the Spartans, early in the 2008-09 season. Lykendra has filled up the stat sheet in both games, averaging 7.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.5 assists and 2.0 blocks, in only 20.0 minutes of action per game. She pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds on Sunday against Stony Brook.

Lykendra sat out last season, but was a four-star recruit coming out of Trinity High School. She was ranked 26th in the nation by All-Star Girls Report, 30th by hoopgurlz.com and 84th by BlueStarBasketball.com. In addition, she earned honorable mention All-America honors from Street and Smith's in 2005.

Who has been the most influential people in your life? My family.

What is your favorite memory from your childhood? My siblings and I were racing down the street to get home the fastest. It was girls against boys. My sister was really fast, but I was slow. The boys won and I ended up with scars on my knees from my sister dragging me. It taught me how to run a little faster.

What is your hidden talent? I can sing.

What was the last book you read? Freedom to Forget by Dan Willis.

What are the most played songs on your iPod? "Imagine Me" by Kirk Franklin and "Right here(departed)" by Brandy.

What makes your hometown special? Being able to see everyone, every time I get to go back and visit.

If you could take a week-long trip to anywhere in the world, where would it be? Anywhere overseas. I like to travel and like seeing new sites.

If you could play another sport in college, what would it be? Volleyball.

At what age did you start playing basketball? 6th grade.

What is the best thing about the Michigan State campus? It is very close and you don't have to walk far.

What is your favorite place to eat in East Lansing? Applebees. And what do you typically order? A steak quesadilla.
