2014: Academic All-Big Ten... Finished second by three seats to Iowa, but had open-water over third-place Penn in the second varsity eight at the Clemson Invitational (4/19)... Defeated Rutgers and Boston in the second varsity eight race (3/28)... Varsity four defeated Duke by three seconds on the first day of the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational (3/15).
2013: In the season-opening races at home (March 30) in the three seat of the second novice eight, fell to Michigan by 11 seconds in the morning session but rebounded with an open-water win over Notre Dame in the afternoon ... Rowed in the five seat of the second novice eight in a four-boat race with Big Ten foes Michigan, Ohio State, and Indiana (April 13) when conditions forced a change from a double-dual format. Finished third in a time of 6:92.4, nearly two lengths ahead of fourth-place Ohio State ... Lined up with some of the best crews in the country at the Clemson Invitational (April 20-21). Appeared in the five seat in the second novice eight boat, which finished second to Texas in each race, but ahead of Ohio State, Clemson, and Duke. Posted times of 7:16.8 in the morning and 6:57.6 in the afternoon, closing the gap on the Longhorns by more than three seconds by the afternoon session ... The Sunday racing for the novice eights at Clemson was wiped out due to weather conditions ... Raced Big Ten foes Minnesota and Wisconsin in the final week of the regular season (May 5), and rowed to a third-place finish (6:42.6) as the bow seat in the novice eight. In one of the tightest races of the day, Wisconsin finished in 6:57.1, Minnesota in 6:58.8, and MSU just a length behind in 7:02.9 ... Helped the novice eight finish one spot better than its seeding at the Big Ten Championships (May 19). In the seven seat, finished fourth in a time of 7:14.462. The Spartans finished fourth in the team standings with 85 points, behind champion Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
