Rowing NCAAs Await Spartans

2013: Opened the season (March 30) in the six seat of the varsity eight, falling to both Michigan and Notre Dame by two lengths... Rowed in the five seat of the varsity eight in a four-boat race with Big Ten foes Michigan, Ohio State, and Indiana (April 13) when conditions forced a change from a double-dual format. Finished fourth in a time of 6:54.13 ... Lined up with some of the best crews in the country at the Clemson Invitational (April 20-21). In the four seat of the varsity eight, crossed the line in a time of 6:48.3 in the Saturday morning heat, a race Cornell won in a time of 6:35.0. In the second two sessions at Clemson, rowed in the seven seat in the varsity eight, and helped the boat finish third in its second Saturday race, crossing the line in 6:29.9, behind Louisville (6:22.0) and Minnesota (6:26.3). In Sunday's race, crossed the finish line in a time of 6:58.1, behind Louisville (6:46.7), Clemson, Cornell, and Duke ... In the seven seat in the second varsity eight, posted a five-second win over Duke (7:05.04) after falling to No. 4 Virginia by open water when the team traveled to take on the host Cavaliers and the Blue Devils (April 27) ... Raced Big Ten foes Minnesota and Wisconsin in the final week of the regular season (May 5), and rowed to a third-place finish (6:42.6) as the bow seat in the varsity eight ... In the seven seat, helped the varsity eight to a fourth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships (May 19) in a time of 6:44.334, avenging a pair of losses to Minnesota in the regular season. Helped MSU finish fourth at the Championships as a team.

2012:Rowed in the varsity eight at the NCAA Championships where the Spartans finished second in the third-level final in a time of 6:36.10... Placed fourth at the Big Ten Championships in a time of 6:34.201 (May 13)... At Iowa (April 7), picked up a pair of wins over the Hawkeyes (by six seats) and Louisville (open water) ...Rowed in the varsity eight at the UVA Invitational (April 14-15)where MSU captured victories over No. 19 Minnesota by 8.9 seconds and No. 18 Clemson by 10.2 seconds... Defeated No.11 Stanford by 1.9 seconds

2011: Has seen action in the second varsity eight and the varsity eight boats... Captured a Big Ten gold medal in the varsity eight when the Spartans took first place in the race with a time of 6:17.12 and a 3.41 second margin of victory over Ohio State at the Big Ten Championships ... Advanced to the Grand Finals at the NCAA regatta where the varsity eight rowed to a sixth place finish with a time of 6:36.12... Aided her team in three victories at the number seven seat in the second varsity eight over Boston University, Gonzaga, and Indiana, with top margins of 17.7 seconds, 15.4 seconds and 10.6 seconds respectively to win the Dale England Cup... Captured two Big Ten victories over Minnesota and Wisconsin with the varsity eight in the Spartans' only home race... Notched a 3.7 second victory over No. 17 Washington State with the varsity eight.

2010: Competed in the novice eight throughout most of the regular season... Was a member of the second varsity eight for the Big Ten Championships, the 2010 South/Central Springs and the 2010 NCAA Regatta... Helped pull her boat to a fourth-place finish with a time of 6:33.01 at Big Tens... Recorded a close victory of 1.1 seconds over Ohio State with the novice eight.

Prior to MSU: Previously on the MSU Women's Club Ice Hockey team before walking on the rowing team her sophomore year... Lettered in volleyball in all four years in high school and basketball and track for three years...Was first team All-State for volleyball in 2007 and second team All-State in 2006... First Team All- Conference and First Team All Region from 2004-2007... Named to the Saginaw News Dream Team in 2006 and 2007 for volleyball... Selected to participate in the US Olympic National Hockey Training Center in Rochester, New York.

Personal: Born April 25, 1990...Daughter of Dan and Sharon Bade...Mother was an All American volleyball player at Ferris State.... Father played football for Western Michigan... Brother, Luke, will run track at Central Michigan next year...A kinesiology major.
