Spartans look for early success in Tennessee

2017: Opened the season with strong performances at the Oak Ridge Cardinal in the varsity eight, finishing second to Virginia in a time of 6:38.751 and defeating Notre Dame and West Virginia in the morning session and posting a heat victory in a time of 6:38.388 over Minnesota, Clemson, and the Mountaineers in the afternoon (3/11) ... On Sunday at Oak Ridge (3/12), was third behind a pair of nationally ranked crews in Michigan and Virginia, but finished ahead of Tennessee in a time of 6:35.053 ... Posted a commanding victory in the opening Big Ten race of the season in the varsity eight at Rutgers, defeating the Scarlet Knights by more than 10 seconds (7:00.9) ... In the second varsity eight, rowed at Princeton with Brown in the day after the B1G opener (3/25). Finished third behind No. 10 Princeton and No. 5 Brown in a time of 7:10.7 ... In a Big Ten Double Dual at Indiana (4/1), put up a great fight in the varsity eight against No. 14 Iowa, which crossed in a time of 6:30.06 with MSU just two seats back (6:31.49), then posted a time of 6:28.80, the fastest time of any boat in any session on the day, to defeat both IU and Kansas ... Hosting a Big Ten Double Dual on Lake Ovid (4/8), rowed in the varsity eight and finished just .0.88 seconds behind No. 11 Wisconsin, (6:28.41 - 6:29.29), but rebounded with a 13-second victory over Minnesota in a time of 6:34.04 ...In the Varsity Eight, earned Big Ten Boat of the Week honors after a strong weekend of racing on the Charles River in Boston (4/22-23). held off Northeastern at the finish on Saturday, out-sprinting the Huskies in the final 400 and , edging ahead by a bowball at the final horn (6:25.618 - 6:25.948). On Sunday, the V8 consistently built a lead over the first 1500 meters and finished in 6:34.2, about a seat of open water over No. 16 Radcliffe, ( 6:39.1), and. Boston College was 14 seconds behind ... In the varsity eight at the Big Ten Championships (5/14), was about a second behind fifth-place Wisconsin at the finish, in a time of 6:23.855. Made significant gains on the Badgers throughout the race -- MSU was behind the UW entry by open water at the 1000-meter mark, but was just 1.2 seconds behind the Badgers at the final horn.

2016: In the second varsity eight at the Oak Ridge Invitational (3/12-13), posted a third-place finish in its first race (6:41.80), about three seats behind second-place Kansas. The margin for MSU in the afternoon session remained at about three seats behind Kansas in a time of 6:32.64, but both crews were open water behind Virginia and Notre Dame. Finished second behind B1G foe Minnesota in the final race at Oak Ridge (6:59.707) ... Had a pair of third-place finishes in the varsity four at the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual in Columbus (4/2), six seconds behind second-place Clemson in the afternoon and 20 seconds behind top-ten crews from Virginia and Michigan in the morning session (7:45.2) ... Split action at the Big Ten Double Dual in Princeton, NJ (4/9) in the second varsity eight, defeating host Rutgers by open water in the morning (7:24.0) but falling to Ohio State in the afternoon (8:09.4) ... At the Clemson Invitational (4/16-17), raced in the 2V8 and took fifth place (7:15.9), less than a length out of fourth in the Saturday morning session, and then was sixth behind several ranked crews in a stacked Saturday evening race ... Finished third to No. 3 Ohio State and No 16. Syracuse (4/24) in a three-boat second varsity eight race in Columbus, clocked in a time of 6:45.5 ... In the second varsity eight, finished seventh at the Big Ten Championships held in Indianapolis (5/15), clocked in a time of 6:56.150 ...

2015: Spent all seven racing weekends in the varsity eight, the first four in the four seat ... Clocked a weekend-best 6:01.206 in the final set of races at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational (3/14-15) vs. Kansas, Tennessee, and Alabama ... Was within six seats of both UCF and Oklahoma in the first V8 races at Oak Ridge, clocked in a time of 6:06.431 ... Fell to both Louisville and Notre Dame in a double dual at Ohio State (3/28) ... Dropped a pair of dual races to Big Ten foes Iowa (6:47.2-6:56.03) and Indiana (6:23.8-6:42.9) in a Big Ten double dual at Michigan (4/11) ... Had a rough go at the Clemson Invitational (4/18-19), finishing sixth, seventh, and seventh on Lake Hartwell in a regatta featuring 10 teams from the CRCA Top 25 ... Moved to the three seat of the V8 for a quad in Columbus, where MSY finished behind eventual National Champion Ohio State, NCAA qualifier Michigan, and Syracuse with a time of 6:45.7 ... Was behind both Wisconsin (6:55.3541) and Minnesota (7:03.971) in the six seat of MSU's varsity eight with a time of 7:11.529 in a Big Ten race in Baraboo, Wisconsin (5/2) ... Won the Petite Final at the Big Ten Championships (5/17) in the six seat, finishing with five lengths of open water ahead of Rutgers (7:05.305-7:32.583) ... Missed a spot in the Big Ten Grand final by under two-tenths of a second, behind third-place Iowa in the Big Ten semifinal heat (6:54.239-6:55.910) (5/16).

2014: Novice eight won by a full length over Wisconsin and by open water over Minnesota at Michigan (4/12)... Defeated the Brown novice eight by open water (3/29)... Finished nearly 30 seconds ahead of Rutgers, who edged Boston by two seats in the novice eight race (3/28)... Defeated Duke and Kansas at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational (3/15).

Prior to MSU: Attended Midland High School ... Member of National Honor Society ... Varsity letterwinner in basketball and track her junior year ... Academic All-State selection ... Part of District Champion teams in both basketball and track along with a Regional Championship in basketball.
