MSU Novice Crew Dominates Michigan
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State dominated visiting Michigan in novice crew this morning at Grand River Park, posting the three best head races times and sweeping a best-of-three competition at the end of the day.
Racing began with a head race of approximately 3,500 meters in which boats race the clock in staggered starts. All three Michigan State boats finished with better times than the top Michigan boat.
After the head race was complete, the boat with the top time from each school competed in three 1,000-meter head-to-head races, with the Spartans easily outdistancing Michigan in each race.
