Rowing Takes Off For Virginia Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State rowing heads east to Charlottesville, Va., for duals against Virginia, Oregon State and Central Florida on this weekend (April 11-12) at the Virginia Invitational. The Spartans race Virginia on Saturday morning and Oregon State that afternoon, before facing Central Florida on Sunday morning.
Saturday morning's race against the Cavaliers will begin at 9:10 a.m. with the novice eight boats, while the second varsity four, varsity four and second varsity eight crews follow in 10-minute intervals. The dual's final event pairs MSU's No. 8 varsity eight against UVA's No. 3 crew; the race is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
On Saturday afternoon, the Spartans will take on Oregon State, racing varsity four, second varsity eight and varsity eight crews beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Sunday's duals feature Michigan State against Central Florida. The novice eight boats will again begin the races at 8:10 a.m., while the second varsity four, varsity four, second varsity eight and varsity eight follow in the order. The day's final event is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
After a three week break, Oregon State returns to the water after last taking on Gonzaga on March 22. The novice eight, second novice eight and second varsity eight crews came away with victories, while the varsity eight and varsity four boats fell to the Zags.
UCF has had two weeks to prepare for its regatta in Virginia. The Knights are coming off an impressive display against Miami on March 29 at Lake Pickett, where they won three of four events against the Hurricanes.
