Michigan State heads to the 21-team Clemson Invitational this weekend, a regatta filled with highly-competitive and nationally-ranked teams. The Spartans, who are receiving votes in the most recent Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) national poll, will see eight top-20 teams as well as five others which are receiving votes this week.

Racing begins on Saturday morning at 8:52 a.m. with the first of three varsity eight heats. MSU will line up with Miami, Duke, No. 16 Cornell, Penn, Louisville, and No. 13 UCLA in the Saturday morning session; the Spartans will see Penn and Miami again in the second session on Saturday afternoon, as well as No. 12 Washington State, Gonzaga, No. 18 Syracuse, and Oregon State. Racing will conclude on Sunday morning, when the Spartans will face off with Dartmouth, No. 16 Cornell, No. 18 Clemson, No. 13 UCLA, No. 20 Indiana, and No. 12 Washington State. Oregon State, Louisville, Dartmouth, Penn, and Gonzaga are all teams receiving votes in the CRCA poll this week.

"This regatta is pretty stacked talent-wise, and we will certainly have our work cut out for us," said head coach Matt Weise. "We have tried to learn from our previous races, but we've also had some lineup changes this week . We will see how those tweaks, both technically and personnel-wise, will work for us, because each of our races will see us against some pretty stiff competition. I still believe that we're improving. We've had no easy weeks, and that will be the story every single week for us."

MSU has raced a very competitive national schedule already this season, racing No. 1 Brown, No. 4 Virginia, No. 7 Princeton, and No. 15 Wisconsin in addition to Louisville and Minnesota, which are receiving votes this week. MSU will head to Charlottesville next weekend to race Virginia again, then will take on No. 3 Ohio State and RV Louisville in the final races of the regular season in Ann Arbor.

Live results for all three sessions of the will be available on; and on Twitter at @ClemsonRowing . The final 1,000 meters of each race will also be broadcast live on TigerCast on the Clemson athletics website.

Clemson has asked that all fans attending this weekend's regatta to park in Jervey Meadows, behind Doug Kingsmore Stadium. A limited amount of handicap parking will be available at the Clemson Boathouse.
