Spartan Rowing Announces Nine Signees For 2017

East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State rowing coach Matt Weise has announced that nine student-athletes will join the Spartan rowing program when they enroll at Michigan State University in the fall of 2017.

The Spartans, No. 19 in the most recent Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) national poll, have nine seniors on its current roster and are currently training for the Big Ten Championships, which will be held May 13-14 in Indianapolis, Ind.

"Our 2017 Class is a great mix of rowers, coxswains and other-sport athletes," said Weise. " All of these athletes have the understanding of commitment to the team mission and will help create a positive team culture in the novice class as well as add to our overall team speed with their work ethic and athleticism. "

Michigan State both trains and has informal competitions in the fall in addition to its spring competition schedule, which annually culminates with the Big Ten and NCAA Championships.
