Meet the Spartans: Sophie Macadré

The Michigan State field hockey team will feature each of the freshman this fall in attempt to "Meet the Spartans". This week freshman Sophie Macadré (Wellington, New Zealand) sat down with to answer some questions.


Field Hockey Takes Down Richmond, 6-1

No. 19 Michigan State field hockey earned its second win of the weekend by defeating Richmond on Sunday afternoon to improve to 4-2 on the year. MSU trailed 1-0 before an offensive explosion in which the Spartans scored six unanswered goals to secure a 6-1 victory.


Field Hockey Rallies For Overtime Victory

No. 19 Michigan State (3-2) erased a two-goal deficit in the second half at Kent State on Saturday afternoon to come back and defeat the Golden Flashes 4-3 in overtime. Senior midfielder Becky Stiles put home the game-winner, giving the Spartans a win in their fourth overtime game in five contests so far this season.


Field Hockey Set for Pair of Weekend Games

No.19 Michigan State (2-2) hits the road for the second consecutive weekend, taking on Kent State (2-2) on Saturday and Richmond (2-2) on Sunday. Both games will be noon starts and will be played on the campus of Kent State University.


Field Hockey Falls to American in Double Overtime

The No. 16 Michigan State field hockey team fell to 2-2 on the year after losing a tightly contested double-overtime match to the No. 19 American Eagles on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles scored in the 97th minute of play, converting on a penalty corner to give them the 1-0 win.
