Field Hockey Falls to No. 4 Maryland

No. 18 Michigan State fell 4-2 to No. 4 Maryland on Sunday afternoon in the second game of homecoming weekend. MSU is now 5-4 on the year and 1-2 in the Big Ten, while Maryland improved to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference.


Spartans Fall to No. 7 Penn State, 2-1

No. 18 Michigan State fell to No. 7 Penn State, 2-1 in its Big Ten home opener on Friday. Michigan State falls to 5-3 on the year and 1-1 in Big Ten play, while the Nittany Lions improve to 7-2 and 1-1 in the conference.


No. 18 Michigan State Plays Host to Pair of Top-10 Teams

No.18 Michigan State (5-2) plays host to a pair of top-10 teams this weekend, taking on No. 7 Penn State on Friday at 4 p.m. and No. 4 Maryland on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both games will take place at Ralph Young Field, with Sunday's game being featured on Big Ten Plus (subscription required).

Field Hockey Wins Big Ten Opener

No. 19 Michigan State (5-2, 1-0) opened up Big Ten play on Friday with a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory on the road vs. Ohio State. It was Abby Barker who found the back of the net in the overtime period, scoring her team-leading seventh goal of the season. The Spartans are no stranger to close games this season, as five of their seven contests have gone to overtime.
