First-year volunteer coach Prabhdeep Singh arrives in East Lansing from Ypsilanti, Mich., where he served as a volunteer coach for the Ann Arbor Rec and Ed Field Hockey team. Prior to his time in Ann Arbor, Singh also gained coaching experience while working with the Markanda National College men's field hockey team in India for the 2004-2005 season.
Singh served as the coach for the Markandey Field Hockey Club from 2002-2005. While there, he coached the junior and senior boys and girls, while also coaching the sub-junior boys and girls.
From 1986-1996, Singh gained playing experience as a member of various district and state tournament teams in his native country of India. He then went on to play for the Kurukeshtra University men's hockey team from 1996-2000. Singh also competed for the Indian University team from 1997-2000, which participated in the Ayur Gold Cup, the 34th Jawaha Lal Nehru Hockey Tournament, and the Senior National Hockey tournament.
Singh earned a diploma in sports coaching in 2002 from the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, while also receiving a hockey umpires certificate from the Patiala Union Hockey Association that same year. In addition, Singh has a bachelor of arts from Guru Nanak Khalsa College in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana, India.
