The Buckeyes tied the game at 1-1 in the 62nd minute off its second penalty corner of the day.
The game was tied at 1-all after regulation, sending the Spartans into overtime for the third time this season.
In the 84th minute, Vagnoni and Macadré found themselves with another breakaway. Beating the defender, the duo played the ball ahead, but a diving save from OSU goalkeeper Liz Tamburro stopped the scoring drive.
Miller came up with a huge save in the 98th minute, keeping the score tied at 1-1 and sending the game into a shootout.
Ohio State struck first in shootout, while the Spartans missed on their first attempt. The Green and White would not be denied again, with the final goal coming from Vagnoni on a strong move that drew the defender out of the net.
The senior played the ball wide right, firing the ball past the goalkeeper for the win.

It took seven penalty strokes to crown a winner, but the Spartans won the shootout 3-2.

"Today I was so proud of our ability to execute our game plan for over 70 minutes," said head coach Helen Knull. "We have been making adjustments from game to game and are finding our groove to play up, execute our basics, and control possession. Our goalkeeping unit was outstanding today. Mairi (Fletcher) had a clean sheet first half and Katie Miller made some exceptional saves in the second half, overtime periods and was phenomenal in the shootouts. A three-game win streak is giving some confidence going into Friday when we return home to play Penn State."
