Aug. 30, 1997 Hiscox, Berberich Lead MSU to 5-0 VictoryEAST LANSING, Mich. -- Spartan seniors Rayna Hiscox and Ann Berberich each poured in two goals, as Michigan State claimed its first victory of the season with a 5-0 win over Pacific. Goalkeeper Beth George notched the shutout, as made three saves for the third shutout of her career. The Spartans blew the game open early, as Hiscox scored on a penalty stroke to open the scoring 15 minutes into the contest. Berberich and Emma Fernandez also chipped in first-half goals, as MSU led at halftime, 3-0. Berberich and Hiscox each chipped in late second-half goals to complete the scoring for the Spartans. MSU now takes on Stanford on Aug. 31, to complete a three-game set in California.
