Aug. 31, 1997 Michigan State Shuts Out Stanford, 2-0EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State goalkeeper Beth George picked up her second shutout in two days, as MSU rolled to a 2-0 victory over Stanford in Berkeley, Calif. Spartan Rayna Hiscox provided all the scoring, as she lit the lamp twice, marking her second straight two-goal game. George made three saves, as she notched her fourth career shutout in net for Michigan State. After going 2-1 on their California trip, the Spartans head east to participate in the UMASS/Phoenix Invitational Tournament, held in Amherst, Mass., from Sept. 6-7. MSU will play New Hampshire in the opening round, with Massachusetts or California to follow.
