EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State field hockey team will host its Spartan Field Hockey Play Day event this spring. The clinic will take place at the Duffy Daugherty Building.
"The staff always enjoys working with local and national players at our winter play day," said head coach Helen Knull. "It is a great opportunity for field hockey athletes to compete during the off-season."
The Play Day is available to females of any experience level between the ages of 10-18. The event will include small games, shooting drills, tactics, situations and a scrimmage. MSU field hockey coaches and players will head up all activities.
Participants are asked to bring their own lunches as the Play Day lasts from 9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Suggested attire is sports clothes and sneakers or turf shoes. Shin guards and mouth guards are required to participate. All athletes are requested to bring their own field hockey stick and goal keepers to bring all of their necessary gear.
There is limited space for the clinic and early registration is suggested. Registration can be completed on the day of the event at 9 a.m. or by mail. There is a 50 dollar fee to participate in the clinic.
