Big Ten Network Releases Fall Olympic Television Schedule

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Big Ten Network has announced its fall Olympic schedule, and Michigan State will have at least 10 contests aired on the Big Ten Network over the course of the fall. The volleyball program leads the way with at least three matches on BTN, while both field hockey and men's soccer will have at least two contests covered. Women's soccer will have at least one game aired on the conference television network. Also, the cross country program will have both the men's and women's conference championships aired.
The men's soccer team, led by second-year head coach Damon Rensing, will open the fall up for the Spartans on the Big Ten Network with a game against Northwestern on Sept. 26 which will be taped-delayed for 5 p.m. ET. The men will also host Wisconsin on Oct. 17 for the second of two Spartan soccer games that day. The women's team, led by Tom Saxton who is entering his 20th campaign at the helm, will begin the day when it hosts Northwestern for its lone BTN game at 12 p.m. ET, while the men follow against the Badgers at 2:30 p.m. ET. Both matches on Oct. 17 will be aired live on BTN.
Head volleyball coach Cathy George, who is entering her sixth year, and her program will have the most MSU contests covered by the Big Ten Network as three of its matches will be aired. The Spartans will travel to Michigan for a 7 p.m. ET contest on Oct. 13, before hosting Northwestern on Oct. 16 three days later. MSU will have its match against the Wildcats aired on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. ET. The final volleyball match will be contested at Indiana on Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. ET.
Head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof and the field hockey team will have two of its games covered by BTN this coming season. MSU's home contest against Indiana on Oct. 23 will be tape-delayed until Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. ET. The defending Big Ten Champions will also have its away matchup against Northwestern on Oct. 31 covered live at 1 p.m. ET
The cross country team, led by the fourth-year director of cross country and track & field Walt Drenth, joins the field hockey and men's soccer programs as sports that will have their respective conference championships covered by BTN. Cross country will have both the men's and women's races on Oct. 31 aired at yet to be determined date and time. The men's soccer tournament will have both semifinal contests as well as the conference championship shown live on BTN on Nov. 12 and Nov. 14, respectively. The field hockey tournament will also have both its semifinal games as well as conference championships aired by the network. The semifinals will be played on Nov. 5 while the final will be on Nov. 7. Both days will be covered live on the Big Ten Network.
Volleyball as well as men's and women's soccer all of have the potential to have one contest added to the networks schedule as there is a wild card slot for game yet to be determined.
MSU looks to have much more coverage by the Big Ten Network as several Spartan contests will also be streamed live at BigTenNetwork.com. That schedule has yet to be released.
