Rijpma and Deacon Invited to NFHCA Senior All-Star Game

EAST LANSING, Mich. -Michigan State seniors Floor Rijpma (Bunnik, Netherlands) and Jeamie Deacon (Wexford, Ireland) have been selected to participate in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Senior All-Star Game on Nov. 21 at Wake Forest University. "We are all excited for Floor and Jeamie," said head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof. "They continue to be important members of our team and we're happy they have been recognized by the NFHCA for their achievements over their careers at Michigan State." Rijpma and Deacon have each had impressive careers as members of the Spartans. Rijpma, a three-time All-Big Ten selection and two-time All America, has recorded 51 career goals and 119 career points over her 82 career games. While Deacon, a two-time First Team All-Big Ten unanimous selection and two-time All America, has recorded 31 career goals and 86 career points in her 55 games in the Green and White. Michigan State has sent at least one representative to the NFHCA Senior All-Star game each year since 2002, most recently sending Gwen Riley in 2008. The game will take place at Kentner Stadium on the campus of Wake Forest University (Winston-Salem, NC). Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
