EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State sophomores Abby Barker and Becky Stiles have been named 2012 Longstreth /National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I First Team All-West Region selections.

Barker, a forward, started in all 20 games this season.  She led the Spartans in goals and points for the second consecutive season,  netting 18 goals and assisting on three (39 points).  Barker scored the only Spartan goal in the overtime Big Ten Tournament game against Iowa.  The forward scored two goals in games against Maine, Louisville, Indiana, Michigan, and Central Michigan. Barker recorded a season high five points in the win against Indiana, assisting on one goal and scoring twice in the 3-0 win.

Stiles was chosen to be part of the United States U21 Squad at the Pan American Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico, and missed five games as a part of participating in that tournament.  Stiles, provided a big lift to her team upon her return to the lineup, and the midfielder scored the game-winning goal against Kent State as well as assisted on Barker's goal.
