EAST LANSING, Mich. - Five Spartan field hockey players made the Academic All-Big Ten Team, which was released earlier this week. Senior Michelle Huynh-Ba (hospitality business, Hockessin, Del.) earns her first such honor, while seniors Becky Bolen (zoology, Redbank, N.J.), Jessica Miller (psychology, San Diego, Calif.) and junior Megan Nimke (marketing, Ann Arbor, Mich.) are all being named to the list for the second year in a row. A biochemistry/molecular biology major, senior Breanna Harpstead (West Chester, Pa.) is collecting her third Academic All-Big Ten award.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a career grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better. In total, the Big Ten recognized 603 student-athletes, with 55 named from Michigan State.
