No. 12 Spartan Women's Golf Continues Competition at Regional Challenge
Spartans in 16th place heading into Wednesday's third and final round.

PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The No. 12 Michigan State women's golf team carded a 309 for the second straight round at the Regional Challenge on Tuesday at the Palos Verdes Country Club and is tied for 16th at the tournament with a total of 618. The elite tournament features nine teams ranked in the Golfweek Top 25, including six of the top 10 teams in the country.
Senior Caroline Powers is tied for 18th on the individual leaderboard with a 6-over 148. Powers again carded a 74 on Tuesday. She posted five birdies in her round, but also had two bogeys and three double bogeys to finish at 3-over for the day.
Sophomore Trisha Witherby improved by four shots in her second round with a 4-over 75 and is currently tied for 49th at 154 (79-75).
Junior Allyssa Ferrell shot a 78 for the second consecutive day and owns a two-round total of 156. Christine Meier rounded out the team scoring on Tuesday with an 82 and is at 165 for the tournament (85-82).
Sophomore Jenny Sritragul carded an 85 on Tuesday and is at 163 (78-85).
No. 3 USC leads the tournament with a team score of 578, followed by UCLA (579) and No. 4 Duke (585).
The third and final round of the Regional Challenge is set for Wednesday, with a shotgun start beginning at 11 a.m. ET. Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com.
