Women's Golf 10th After Day 1 at Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational
March 9, 1998 EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's golf team stands in a tie for 10th place in a strong 17-team field after one day at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational in Windemere, Fla. The Spartans shot a 329 over 18 holes, 23 strokes off the pace set by Campbell University (306). Freshman Kasey Gant (Fort Wayne, Ind.) continues her impressive rookie season, leading the Spartans with a 79, good for 14th place individually. She stands just seven shots behind the leader. Junior Ellen Bishop (New Castle, Ind.) turned in a solid 81 for MSU (tied for 25th individually), while classmate April Holly (Royal Oak, Mich.) also provided support with an 84.
