Women's Golf Finishes 11th at Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational
March 10, 1998 EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State womenis golf team finished in 11th place in a strong 17-team field at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational in Windemere, Fla. The Spartans shot a 329-330=659 over 36 holes at the Windemere Country Club, 55 strokes off the pace set by Campbell University (604). Junior Ellen Bishop (New Castle, Ind.) turned in a solid 81-78=159 to lead MSU (tied for 19th individually). Bishopis second-day 78 was one stroke off her career-best effort and moved her up six spots in the individual standings from her 25th-place first-day effort. Freshman Kasey Gant (Fort Wayne, Ind.) finished with MSU's second-best score (164, tied for 25th individually).
