No. 22 Women's Golf Tied for Seventh at Bryan National Collegiate

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The No. 22 Michigan State women's golf team shot a 15-over-par 303 in the second round of the Bryan National Collegiate on Saturday and is tied for seventh place overall in the 18-team field with a 21-over 597 (294-303). Thirteen of the 18 teams in the field are ranked in the Golfstat Top 50, including eight in the Top 25.

Freshman Kelly Grassel is the top Spartan on the leaderboard, sitting in a tie for 11th with a 2-over 146 (70-76). Senior Allyssa Ferrell had her run of four straight rounds of shooting under par snapped, as she carded a 4-over 76; she is tied for 17th place with a 3-over 147 (71-76).

Senior Christine Meier (76-77) and junior Trisha Witherby (77-76) are both tied for 48th place at 9-over 153.

Senior Liz Nagel shot the best round of the day for the Spartans with a 75, and is tied for 78th at 157 (82-75).

The Spartans are 15 shots behind tournament leader and third-ranked Duke (582).

The third and final round of the Bryan National Collegiate is set for Sunday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring will be available at
