No. 20 Spartan Women's Golf Defeats Georgetown, No. 22 Iowa State in Match Play at Murphey Classic

ATHENS, Ga. - The No. 20 Michigan State women's golf team defeated Georgetown and No. 22 Iowa State in match play on Saturday at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic and will face Texas A&M in the championship match of the "Black" bracket on Sunday.
This year's Murphey Classic is featuring a unique scoring format. Friday's first round was a traditional stroke play loop, and those results were utilized to comprise a pair of match play brackets for the weekend. The top-eight teams were seeded in the "Red" bracket, and the remaining schools moved to the "Black" bracket. Michigan State tied for ninth during the stroke play portion of the tournament on Friday with a 19-over-par 307.
In the 3-1 victory over the Cyclones, Nagel and Meier were against victorious, along with Kelly Grassel.
