COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 24 Michigan State women's golf team is in third place at the Lady Buckeye Invitational after shooting a 32-over-par 608 (305-303) through 36 holes on Saturday at the Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club. Kent State leads the 12-team field with a 21-over 597.
Freshman Kelly Grassel led the Spartans on Saturday with a 5-over 149 (78-71) and is tied for second place, just two shots off the pace of current leader Jennifer Ha (Kent State). Grassel carded a 78 in her first round, but bounced back with an impressive 1-under 71 in her second 18 of the day to vault 22 spots up the leaderboard.
