EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State shot a final-round score of 12-over par 300 to finish in second place at the 2008 Big Ten Women's Golf Championship at the Penn State Blue Course in University Park, Pa. The Spartans finished the tournament with a four-round total of 38-over par 1190 (292-303-295-300).

This is the fifth straight year that Michigan State has finished in the top two at the conference championships, including two straight years in the top two. Purdue, who grabbed the lead in the second round, won the championship with a 17-over par 1169 (298-288-286-297).

"I thought we played well throughout the championship," said head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll. "To have three players in the top-10, two of which are in their first Big Tens, is a great feat for our program."
