Saturday’s Round of the NCAA Championships Cancelled; Play to Resume Sunday
Play will resume on Sunday; stroke play cut from 72 to 54 holes.
SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Inclement weather forced the cancellation of the Saturday round of the 2017 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships. Play will resume at Rich Harvest Farms with the Sunday round, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday’s original tee times will move to Sunday with no changes in the pairings.
Michigan State is tied for 13th place, six shots out of being in the top three, after an opening round 29-over-par 317.
All 24 teams and 12 individuals in the tournament will play the final round of stroke play on Monday, and the field will then be cut to the top eight teams which advance to the match play quarterfinals, beginning Tuesday.
The stroke play portion of the championship will culminate with the individual medalist being determined following the 54 holes.
