Sarah Burnham Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week
Burnham earns the sixth weekly conference award of her career.
EAST LANSING - Michigan State senior Sarah Burnham has been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week, it was announced by the conference on Wednesday, Feb. 14. Burnham helped the Spartans to second place at the Florida State Match-Up last weekend as she tied for third place individually.
Burnham’s 7-under-par 209 (68-74-67) matched her 54-hole career best, tying the mark she established this past fall at the Windy City Collegiate Championship. Burnham had six birdies and just one bogey in the final round as her 67 marked her second-lowest round of the season. For the tournament, she carded 46 holes at or below par, including 11 birdies and an eagle.
Burnham, who finished just three strokes off the lead at the FSU Match-Up, has a 70.12 scoring average this season.
The weekly conference honor is the sixth of her career and first since Sept. 27, 2017.
