EAST LANSING, Mich. - After a five-week break from tournament competition, the No. 22 Michigan State women's golf team is back in action this weekend (March 28-30) at the Bryan National Collegiate, which is being held at the par 72, 6,386-yard Bryan Park Champions Course in Greensboro, N.C. The 18-team field features 13 teams ranked in the Golfstat Top 50, including eight in the Top 25.

The Spartans are coming off a record-breaking performance at their last tournament Feb. 17-18 at the Central District Invitational in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. During the event, Michigan State set new school records for the lowest 18-hole team score (278), lowest 54-hole team score (849) and lowest 54-hole individual score (Allyssa Ferrell, 207), while matching the lowest 18-hole individual score (Ferrell, 67). The Spartans placed third overall among 14 teams.
Ferrell improved her season average to 74.06 following the Central District Invitational, where she tied for medalist honors. Senior Liz Nagel currently leads the team with a 73.11 average, which ranks tied for 61st in the nation according to Golfstat. Nagel tied for 10th place at the CDI.
Although the Spartans have not played in a tournament since mid-February, the team played several courses in Florida on spring break in early March and played Pinehurst in North Carolina two weeks ago.
Following the Bryan National Collegiate, the Spartans return to action April 4-6 for the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate in Athens, Ga.
