EAST LANSING - Michigan State junior Sarah Burnham has been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Burnham finished second at the Lady Buckeye Invitational last weekend as the Spartans won the team title.
Burnham fired a three-round total of 218 (72-73-73) to finish 2-over-par and second overall in the 75-player field at the Lady Buckeye Invitational at Ohio State's Scarlet Course. The second place finish was the second for Burnham this season.
The Spartans' team title was their first of the season and first since 2014.
It marks the fourth time in her career Burnham has been named Big Ten Golfer of the Week and second time this season as she garnered the honor Sept. 29, 2016 after finishing as the runner-up at the Mary Fossum Invitational.
