Burnham and Geer to Play in Meijer LPGA Classic
The event will take place June 12-17 outside Grand Rapids.
EAST LANSING - Michigan State golfers Sarah Burnham and Allyson Geer have been awarded sponsor exemptions to play in the Meijer LPGA Classic, it was announced by tournament representatives on Friday, June 8 in East Lansing. Burnham, the two-time Big Ten Player of the Year, and Geer, a two-time All-Big Ten honoree, will take part in the event at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, June 12-17.
“I’m really excited to play in the tournament; it will be a great opportunity to see how I compete with the top pros in the world. I’m really looking forward to it,” Burnham said.
It marks the second straight year that Geer will take part in the tournament as she also received a sponsor exemption last season.
“To be able to have this experience twice in college is incredible,” said Geer, a rising junior. “I’m excited to take the experiences I had last year into this year’s tournament and hopefully improve.”
The four-day, 72-hole event features 144 of the top female golfers in the world. Tickets are available at MeijerLPGAClassic.com.
