EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's golf head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll has announced the 2012-13 schedule for the upcoming season.
MSU starts off the season by hosting the 29th annual Mary Fossum Invitational Sept. 15-16 at Forest Akers West in East Lansing. The Spartans won their home tournament in 2011 for the seventh time in the past nine years, and Caroline Powers claimed medalist honors.
The following week, Michigan State heads back to the site of the 2012 NCAA Championship, as the Spartans will participate in the Mason Rudolph Championship Sept. 21-23 at the Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
In October, MSU heads to two familiar tournaments in North Carolina to wrap up the fall season. First up, the Spartans will play in the Tar Heel Invitational Oct. 12-14 in Chapel Hill, N.C., then the Landfall Tradition Oct. 26-28 in Wilmington, N.C.
The spring season starts Feb. 11-13 with the Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif., followed by the 13th annual Central District Invitational Feb. 18-19 in Parrish, Fla. MSU has been hosting the CDI at the River Wilderness Country Club since 2000.
Michigan State's annual spring break trip is set for March 4-8 in Lecanto and Naples, Fla.
The Spartans return to tournament action March 29-31 for the Bryan National Collegiate in Brown Summit, N.C. before the Alumni Match, which is set for April 5-7 in Sea Island, Ga.
The Lady Buckeye Invitational on April 20-21 in Columbus, Ohio, will serve as a tuneup for the 2013 Big Ten Championship on April 26-28 in French Lick, Ind.
The three sites for the NCAA Regionals on May 9-11 are located in Auburn, Ala. (East Regional), Norman, Okla. (Central) and Stanford, Calif. (West).
The 2013 NCAA Championship will be held May 23-26 in Athens, Ga., at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
