BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Five Michigan State women's golfers placed in the top 10 at the 18th-annual GAM Women's Championship held Monday-Tuesday (Aug. 17-18) at the Battle Creek Country Club.

Junior Aimee Neff continued her successful summer with a third-place finish, carding a 142 (71-71), just one shot off the lead. Neff won the Indiana Open and the Illinois Open earlier this summer.

Senior Laura Kueny, who had won the previous two GAM Women's Championships, took fifth place with a 144 (72-72).

Junior Natalie Brehm tied for sixth (68-78--146), while incoming freshmen Caroline Powers tied for eighth (72-75--147) and Liz Nagel tied for 10th (79-69--148). Nagel's second round of 69 on Tuesday tied for the lowest of the day.

Women's golf coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll tied for 15th along with sophomore Shannon Warner with scores of 153.

Other Spartans included Michelle Bowles (tied for 25th), Maddi Massa (tied for 30th) and Ashley Dewling (tied for 73rd).
