Burnham was one of the conference’s most decorated golfers last season. She was named the Big Ten Player of the Year, earned WGCA All-America honorable mention and was MSU’s George Alderton Co-Female Athlete of the Year.
Burnham Finished the year with a 72.57 scoring average, second best in school history only to her 72.42 recorded in 2015-16. The Maple Grove, Minnesota, native posted three runner-up finishes and ended the year 24th at the NCAA Championships.
Her 9-under-par 63 in the second round of the Big Ten Championships was the second-lowest round of 2016-17 in NCAA women’s golf.
Sharp played an integral role in helping the Spartans capture the 2017 Big Ten Championship as she placed fifth in the tournament with a 2-over-par 218. Sharp, who posted a 75.81 scoring average, finished the 2016-17 season on a strong note, placing in the top 20 in five of the final six tournaments.
Geer was the 2017 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and recorded a pair of top-five finishes last season, including taking fourth at the Big Ten Championships. She ranked second on the team with a 74.08 scoring average and second in birdies per round at 2.54.
The Spartans will begin the 2017-18 season on Sept. 9 against Minnesota.
