Liz Nagel Named Golf Association of Michigan Women's Player of the Year
Nagel was the stroke-play medalist at the Michigan Women's Amateur and the top amateur at the Michigan Women's Open.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) has announced that Liz Nagel has been named the 2012 Women's Player of the Year.
Nagel was the stroke-play medalist at the Michigan Women's Amateur at Forest Akers West in July and advanced to the semifinals of that tournament. The DeWitt, Mich., native was also the top amateur at the Michigan Women's Open and placed seventh overall in the annual event at Crystal Mountain Resort, and was the runner-up at the GAM Women's Championship in August at the Port Huron Golf Club.
As a sophomore at Michigan State in 2012-13, Nagel started in nine tournaments and was third on the team with a 75.93 scoring average (2,126 strokes in 28 rounds) to earn second-team All-Big Ten honors. This fall, Nagel is second on the team with a 75.00 scoring average, including an 11th-place showing at the Mary Fossum Invitational (Sept. 15-16) and a 12th-place finish at the Tar Heel Invitational (Oct. 12-14).
