Women's Golf To Add Two Student-Athletes To 2012-13 Roster
Gabby Yurik has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Spartans.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's golf head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll announced Friday that two student-athletes will join the Spartan women's golf roster for the 2012-13 season. Gabby Yurik (Rochester, Mich./Stoney Creek High School) has signed a National Letter of Intent to MSU, while Kendall Allen (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy) will also join the team next season.

Four-year letterwinner played in the No. 1 position all four years and led her team to three state championships (2008, 2009, 2011) . . . posted a 48-1-1 individual record in high school with 45 medalist honors in regular-season play . . . four-time team MVP . . . tied for ninth at the 2011 PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) Championship with a 166 . . . finished in the top 10 at every WPIAL (Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League) and PIAA Championship of her career . . . two-time team captain (2010-11) . . . four-time medalist (2008-11) at the PIAA Western state regionals, which is a PIAA record . . . three-time medalist at the WPIAL team championships (2009-2011) . . . qualified for the USGA Girls Amateur in 2009 and 2010 . . . qualified for the PGA Junior Series in 2010 and 2011 . . . runner-up at the 2011 Pennsylvania State Girls Championship at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa. . . . claimed medalist honors at the 2010 AJGA national qualifier in Pennsylvania . . . runner-up at the FCWT (Future Collegians World Tour) 2010 event in Grand Cypress, Fla. . . . finished in the top-three at the 2010 AJGA Erie Classic in Erie, Pa. . . . top-five finish at the 2009 AJGA Open in New Castle, Pa. . . . claimed medalist honors at the 2009 Western Pennsylvania Girls Championship at the Uniontown Country Club . . . named the 2008 PGA Tri-State Female Junior Player of the Year, winning medalist honors in all 15 summer tournaments . . . runner-up finish at the 2007 Nike All-Star National Championship at Disney Resort, Fla.

Claimed medalist honors at the 2011 MHSAA Division 1 Lower Peninsula State Championships with a 153 (78-75) and led Stoney Creek to a runner-up finish for the second straight year . . . also claimed medalist honors at the Division 1 regionals with a 72 . . . named the No. 1 player in the state of Michigan by The Detroit News . . . named the September 2011 Oakland Press Female Athlete of the Month . . . three-time MIGCA (Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association) Super Team selection (2009-11) and four-time MIGCA Division 1 All-State selection (2008-11) . . . finished in the top five at all four MHSAA state championship tournaments during her career (first in 2011; third in 2010; second in 2009; fifth in 2008) . . . finished in second place in stroke play at the 2011 Michigan Women's Amateur . . . placed fourth at the 2011 GAM Championships . . . placed third at the 2010 MHSAA Division 1 Lower Peninsula State Championships as a junior with a 152 (77-75) and helped lead Stoney Creek to a runner-up finish . . . advanced to the semifinals at the 2009 Michigan Women's Amateur . . . finished runner-up at the 2009 MHSAA Division 1 Lower Peninsula State Championships as a sophomore with a 155 (78-77) and helped lead Stoney Creek to a third-place showing in the team standings . . . shot a 69 in the opening round of the 2008 MHSAA Division 1 Lower Peninsula State Championships as a freshman and finished fifth overall with a 148 (69-79); Stoney Creek placed fourth . . . also plays basketball for Stoney Creek.
