Sara Brown Qualifies For LPGA Tour

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Former Michigan State All-American Sara Brown tied for 14th at the 2010 LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament over the weekend, qualifying her for the LPGA Tour.
By placing in the top 20 of the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, Brown earned Priority in Category 11; all players finishing in LPGA Priority Categories 1-14 are eligible for entry into full-field events (144 players) based on player tournament commitments.
The Tucson, Ariz., native, who earned All-Big Ten honors three times (2006-08) during her career at Michigan State, shot a 2-over 362 in the five-round qualifier (72-73-72-71-74). The tournament was held at the 6,389-yard, par 72 Champions Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Former Spartan Allison Fouch tied for 30th at the event and is now on priority list category 20. Fouch carded a 5-over 365 in the tournament (71-72-74-71-77).
ABOUT THE LPGA FINAL QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT
The top 20 players at the conclusion of the tournament earned Priority in Category 11. Players finishing in the 21st-30th spots earned Priority in Category 16, followed by 31st-40th, who received Priority in Category 20.
All players finishing in LPGA Priority Categories 1-14 are eligible for entry into full-field events (144 players) based on player tournament commitments. Players in categories 15-20 have access to LPGA Monday qualifying tournaments and possible entry into full-field events.
Category 16 is comprised of players finishing Nos. 21-30 from LPGA Final Q-School.
Category 19 is comprised of players finishing Nos. 31-40 from LPGA Final Q-School.
