Gymnastics Opens Big Ten Season Against Iowa At Home

Paired with the MSU wrestling team, Tumbles and Takedowns is at 7 p.m. at Jenison Field House


Burt and Lagoski Named First Team All-Big Ten

This marks the first time MSU has had two gymnasts named to the First Team since Rhiannon Banda-Scott and assistant coach Nicole Curler were in 2007-08

2007: Earned Academic All-Big Ten and NACGC/W All-Academic honors ... Competed in the last seven meets of the season, after missing the first six with an injury ... In her first meet of the season, posted a 9.575 on the vault and a 9.225 on the beam against West Virginia (Feb. 23) ... Improved on her season-high on the vault in three-straight events beginning with a 9.725 vs. Michigan (March 3) ... Followed that up with a 9.800 at Florida to tie for fifth and a career-best 9.875 at Western Michigan to tie for first ... Finished in a tie for third in the vault in the final home meet vs. NC State (Mar. 23) with a score of 9.825 ... Had identical scores of 9.700 at both the Big Ten Championships (March 25) and the NCAA Central Regional (April 7).

2006: Appeared in all 14 meets in her first season with the Spartans ... Scored all-around score of 35.575 vs. Kentucky on Jan. 6, her first meet in Green and White ... Career-high on vault (9.325) vs. UK ... Against Western Michigan and Pittsburgh on Jan. 14, posted all-around score of 36.775 ... Two career-highs at North Carolina State on March 3, on beam (9.600) and all-around (37.200) ... Set career-high on bars (9.775) at Michigan on March 17 ... Set floor exercise career-high (9.700) at the Big Ten Championships on March 25 ... Finished in 15th-place on bars (9.725) at the Big Ten Championships.

Prior to Michigan State: Competed nationally for six years as a member of Team Ontario for coaches Alex Bard and Criag Smith ... Team took first-place at Canadian Nationals in 2000 and 2004 ... In 2004, finished second on vault and fourth in the all-around ... Won awards for best floor choreography at the 2000 Nationals and for best beam choreography in 2004 ... Finished sixth in the all-around at the 2003 Vegas Cup, including a second-place finish on bars ... Chosen as an Ontario Scholar Student in 2004 ... Competed at Central Michigan during her freshman season ... Scored a 9.900 to finish second on floor at the State of Michigan Classic ... Won vault title in dual meet vs. Stanford ... Third on floor at MAC Championships and was nominated for the MAC Freshman of the Year award.
