Cartwright Earns First-Team All-Big Ten Honors

Junior Spartan receives first All-Big Ten recognition of her career.


2010: MSU's lone individual qualifier for the 2010 NCAA Championships after finishing fourth in the all-around at the NCAA Kentucky Regional with a score of 39.175 ... Narrowly missed second team All-America honors on the beam with a score of 9.850, placing 11th in the first session ... First Team All-Big Ten selection ... Led the Spartans in the all-around, earning second place finishes six times and first three times ... Posted a season-high score of 39.325 in the all-around against Oklahoma ... Recorded a season-high score of 9.875 on the floor at the meet against Penn State, West Virginia & Western Michigan ... Tallied a 9.900 on the beam and a 9.925 on the vault against Oklahoma, marking season best scores in each ... Posted her 11th career balance beam title against Pittsburgh when she recorded a 9.850 ... Recorded a team-high 24 top-three finishes, including nine first-place ... Ranked 19th nationally on beam; Was ranked second on beam, eighth in the all-around and 16th on the floor in the Big Ten ... Dominated the competition at the season opener against Western Michigan (Jan. 11), winning the all-around (39.025), bars (9.750), beam (9.825) and floor (9.850) for her second career all-around title ... Won the all-around (39.150) for the second time vs. Pittsburgh (Jan. 19), also claiming the floor exercise title (9.775), placing second on the beam (9.850) and third on vault (9.800) ... Placed third on the floor (9.850), and fourth on both the vault (9.825) and beam (9.850) at Michigan (Jan. 26) ... Began her collegiate career on a high note, earning Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honors on Jan. 17 after the season-opener at Arizona: tied for first in the all-around with a season-best score of 39.400, while also winning two individual titles - balance beam (a career-best 9.925) and floor exercise (9.875) - and placing second on the bars with a career high mark of 9.900 ... Finished first on the balance beam (9.775) at the Pittsburgh quad meet (Jan. 19) ... Tied for second in the vault with a career-best mark of 9.875 and finished second on the floor (9.850) in the home meet against Ohio State and UIC ... Placed second in the all-around (39.350) at the State of Michigan Classic (Feb. 3), also tying for first on the beam (9.900) and second on the floor (9.990) ...
