In her third season as an assistant coach at Michigan State, Elisabeth Forshier actually enters her seventh year in the Spartan gym. A top gymnast for Kathie Klages from 1998-2001, Forshier works with the current Spartan gymnats on vault, floor and beam.

"We are thrilled to have Elisabeth as a full-time assistant," said Klages. "She is an excellent coach, with her forte being the vault. She's a very technical coach and utilizes the proper progressions in teaching our athletes."

Forshier is one of the most decorated vaulters in State's history, scoring 9.900, the second-best score in school history, three times. She was the team's top vaulter during each of her four seasons. In 2001, she placed among the top three on vault in 10 of MSU's 13 meets.

A native of South St. Paul, Minn., Forshier received her bachelor's degree in kineiology from Michigan State in December 2001.

She was awarded her master's degree in athletic administration from Michigan State in May, 2003.

In addition to her coaching duties, Forshier heads the gymnastics team's recruiting efforts, including coordination of recruiting letters, phone calls and official visits.

Forshier is single and resides in East Lansing.
