East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State gymnastics head coach Kathie Klages has announced another signee to the gymnastics program for the recruiting class of 2013.  Holly Ryan (Traverse City, Mich.) will join initial signees Kira Frederick (Orange Park, Fla.), Elena Lagoski (Kingston, Pa.), Jessica Shostak (Elmhurst, Ill.), and Jane Winstead (Oak Hill, Va.).

Prior to Michigan State: Attends Traverse City Central High School...Coached by Beckey Burden-Cuddleback at Walters Edge Gymnastics ...Recognized as a two-time Level 10 State Qualifier in 2009 and 2011 ... Level 10 Regional Qualifier in 2009 and 2011 ... Named vault and balance beam regional champion in 2011 ... Named Level 9 national qualifier in 2010 ... Elected as captain of her gymnastics team from 2009-13.

Personal: Born Jan. 25, 1995 to Dennis and Dayna Ryan ... Recognized as a member of the National Honor Society ... Named to academic honor roll for a GPA higher than 3.5 ... Plans to major in kinesiology. 

Klages on Ryan:  "We are thrilled that Holly Ryan will be joining the freshman class of 2013.  Holly is extremely talented and will add the needed depth to our freshman class.  She is outstanding on beam and will vie for a line-up spot immediately.  She is a very special recruit as she is the first recruit in which I also coached her mom.  Though it was a short summer stint in private club, she is the first recruit at MSU in which this has occurred."
