Gymnastics Adds Three to Class of 2011
June 24, 2011
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State gymnastics head coach Kathie Klages announced Friday that three additional student-athletes have been accepted to Michigan State and will join the Spartan gymnastics team beginning next fall and compete for the 2011-12 squad. The gymnasts include Ellie Gosselin (Walled Lake, Mich., Eurostars Gymnastics), Ashley Noll (Hummelstown, Pa., Artistic Sports Academy Plus) and Carson Tabiolo (Aiea, Hawai'i, Hawaiian Island Twisters).
Gosselin, Noll and Tabiolo bring MSU's 2011 recruiting class to five individuals, as Alina Cartwright (Naperville, Ill.) and Ashley Stevenson (Wildomar, Calif.) signed National Letters of Intent in November to join the Spartans in 2011.
Ellie Gosselin Walled Lake, Mich. Euro Stars Gymnastics
Personal: Born September 2, 1993 ... Full name is Alexandra Catherine Gosselin ... Daughter of John and Linda Gosselin ... Plans on majoring in pre-medicine.
Klages on Gosselin: I was thrilled when Ellie decided to come to MSU. She also has strong bars and will also help this team add depth to its beam and floor line ups. She is a Michigan resident and is very excited to become a Spartan!
Ashley Noll Hummelstown, Pa. Artistic Sports Academy Plus
Personal: Born August 18, 1993 ... Daughter of Bill and Mary Noll ... Undecided on major.
Klages on Noll: We are really excited to add Ashley to the class of 2011. She is an extremely talented individual and will bring a lot of depth to our program. We expect her to compete for an all-around slot and look forward to getting her here this fall.
Carson Tabiolo Aiea, Hawai'i Hawaiian Island Twisters
Personal: Born January 2, 1993 in Honolulu, Hawai'i ... Daughter of Steve and Teri Tabiolo ... Plans on majoring in psychology ... Cousin, Mandy Pascual, was a four-year letterwinner in gymnastics at the University of Maryland.
Klages on Tabiolo: We are very excited to have signed Carson. Although she will be a distance from home, she does have family in the area. She is a dynamic bar swinger with a high level of difficulty and a very consistent beam worker. She brings flair to our program with her bubbly personality and will balance out our other recruits in this class.
