East Lansing, Mich. -- Michigan State head coach Kathie Klages has announced that Ally Hoyer (Grayslake, Ill.) will join the Spartan gymnastics program in the fall of 2016. Hoyer signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
“Ally is a very powerful gymnast that will bring national experience to the Spartan program. She not only is an outstanding gymnast, but is a great student and person. We believe she has all the strong character traits that coaches love in their athletes. We are so excited to welcome Ally to the Spartan family.”
Hoyer will enroll at Michigan State in the fall and will join the Spartan program, which expects to return 13 athletes for the 2016-17 season. MSU will graduate three seniors this May.
Prior to Michigan State: Attends Grayslake Community High School North in Grayslake, Illinois … A fifth-year level 10 who trains at Ultimate Gymnastics in Gurnee, Illinois … Trains with coaches Brandi Taylor, Steve Kams and Shane Sanders … Beam champion at the 2015 Region 5 Level 10 Championships, where she also finished second on floor … Tied for second place on floor at the 2014 Junior Olympic Nationals … Finished second on floor, third on beam and fourth on vault and all-around at the 2014 Region 5 Level 10 Regionals.
