Aimee Cousino Captures Second Team All Big Ten Soccer Honors
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State senior back Aimee Cousino was the lone Spartan to earn Big Ten postseason honors as she captured a second team spot on the 1997 All Big Ten Team. The team was announced Thursday evening.
Cousino, a native of Livonia, has started all 19 MSU regular season contests and helped anchor a defense that allowed just 1.91 goals per game. Career-wise, Cousino, a 1994 graduate of Livonia Churchill High School, has started 64 of 73 contests and has registered six points on one goal and four assists.
Michigan State currently stands 9-9-1 overall (3-5 in the Big Ten) and was to meet regular season champion Minnesota in the opening round of the of the Big Ten Soccer Championship today starting at noon EST. The tournament will be host by the University of Minnesota.
